Millions of people travel every year on business or for pleasure, often to countries that have a high risk of crime and terrorism. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has developed the Know Before You Go (KBYG) programme to aid individuals or groups travelling abroad to remain safe. iSMTA has partnered with CTR High-Risk Security & Investigations Services Ltd (CTR) who is approved by the FCO to promote its guidance on travel security awareness and this e-learning course has been produced in collaboration with CTR Services in accordance with the FCO’s guidelines.
The course is broken down into easy Modules that follow your journey from start to finish and focuses on best practices to enable you to have a safe and secure trip. Each Module will guide you through practical, effective steps for remaining safe, so that by the end of the course you will have an awareness of how potentially unsafe situations arise and a suite of planned responses to such situations, should they occur.
This course is inline with the following organisation to safe guard travellers. This is achieved by our co-operation wih CTR High-Risk Secuity & Invesigations Services Ltd and the FCO Know Before You Go Scheme.

What this course provides and how it will benefit you
This course has been designed by iSMTA and CTR Services to guide travellers abroad on how to remain safe. This is the first fully interactive travel security course that follows the UK FCO Know Before You Go Guidelines. The course is broken down into 6 Modules which are delivered through our professional Learning Management System (LMS). Each Module includes an interactive e-learning segment to guide you through the course and provide invaluable information, advice and guidance. There are also interactive mini quizzes to evaluate and test your understanding of the content; within the LMS you will also be able to access resources and you will receive a certificate of attendance on successful completion of the course. The course can be standalone or joined with other programmes, depending on your travel plans.
Unlike other providers iSMTA is an e-learning purist, in that all taught content that is delivered by one of our many Subject Matter Experts (SME) is a close resemblance to actually being in the classroom, but without all the costs and time constraints. This self-certifying (Duty of Care) course delivered over two hours will enable you to apply some basic reasoning to make informed decisions as to your safety.
